Use scissors and cut the skin of the wire. Do not cut the wires inside. Cut it so there is at least 1.5 centimenters of wire sticking out
Take one aligator clip and clip it on the wire.
Take another aligator clip and clip it on the the wire.
Clip the first clip on a zinc plate, the other on a copper plate. (If you are using wires and nails, tangle the wire on the zinc nail and copper nail. Do not use copper wires.)
Stick the copper and zinc pieces into the lemon or into the Citric acid. The pieces have to be stuck into the Citric acid, which means touching the juice inside. If you are using the mixture of Citric acid balls and water, remember to stir at least for 5~8 minutes.
Take another aligator clip and and put a zinc plate on one end, copper on the other.
Stick the side with the copper plate on the aligator clip into the lemon or Citric acid with the zinc plate.
Stick the side with the zinc plate on the aligator clip into the lemon or Citric acid with the copper plate.
Your ending product should look something like this:
